The myth
Pegasus, the winged horse, sprang from Medusa's neck when Perseus beheaded her, together with the giant Chrysaor. Hesiod explains that his name comes from the springs, pegai, of Ocean near where he was born, and that he flew off to dwell in the house of Zeus, bringing the god thunder and lightning (Theogony 280–286). The hero Bellerophon tamed him with a golden bridle given by Athena and, riding him, slew the Chimera. When Bellerophon tried to fly to Olympus, Pegasus threw him. It was said that a kick of his hoof made the Hippocrene spring gush forth on Mount Helicon.
Why it has this power
A Rare level-7 card with 2300 ATK and 2100 DEF, obtained by fusing Euryale with Perseus; in the myth, however, Pegasus was born of Medusa, Euryale's sister. He is a Wind Bird for his wings, and his Feather and Crown constellations join flight to the house of Zeus. Fused with Bellerophon, he forms Bellerophon Astride Pegasus.
