The myth
The coastal Tupi peoples were skilled navigators, and sixteenth-century European chroniclers such as Hans Staden and Jean de Léry described large canoes carved from trunks or made of bark, carrying dozens of warriors along the coast and up the rivers. These expeditions were part of a system of alliances and rivalries between villages. The canoes were collective work: choosing the tree, felling it, hollowing and shaping the trunk took time and required skill. A hundred oars is a MYTHENOR exaggeration, a canoe so long its bow arrives before its stern sets off.
Why it has this power
A level 6 rare, fusion only: War-Canoe Paddler plus Genipap-Painted Warrior. The ATK 1000 paddler becomes a Machine with ATK 2200 and DEF 2200, perfectly balanced. It is water-element, with Moon and Hammer: the night river and the strength of everyone paddling together.
Did you know
Staden spent about nine months as a Tupinambá captive and published his account in Germany in 1557.
