The myth

Jason was the son of Aeson, rightful king of Iolcus, whose throne had been seized by his half-brother Pelias. Raised by the centaur Chiron, he returned to the city as a grown man. An oracle had warned Pelias to beware a man with one sandal, and Jason arrived just so: he had lost one in the river Anaurus while carrying an old woman, who was the goddess Hera in disguise. Pelias then sent him to fetch the Golden Fleece from distant Colchis. Jason gathered the Argonauts, built the ship Argo and, with Medea's decisive help, won the fleece (Apollonius of Rhodes, Argonautica).

Why it has this power

An Uncommon level-5 card with 1800 ATK and 1700 DEF: a balanced leader who wins more by gathering heroes than by his own strength. A Water Warrior for the crossing of the sea, he bears the Moon and Hammer constellations. Fused with Argo, the Speaking Ship, he forms The Argonauts Aboard the Argo.

Did you know

According to Apollodorus, Pelias asked Jason what he would do with a man fated to kill him, and he answered: send him to fetch the Golden Fleece.
