The myth
The Argonauts were about fifty heroes who sailed with Jason on the Argo, built by Argus with Athena's help. Among them were Heracles, Orpheus, the twins Castor and Polydeuces, the winged Zetes and Calais, Peleus and Telamon. The voyage to Colchis held many adventures: the women of Lemnos, the loss of young Hylas, Polydeuces' boxing match against King Amycus, freeing Phineus from the Harpies and the passage through the Clashing Blue Rocks. The Argonautica of Apollonius of Rhodes, from the third century BCE, is the fullest account.
Why it has this power
A Rare level-7 card with 2400 ATK and 2300 DEF, obtained by fusing Jason with Argo, the Speaking Ship: captain and ship together form the whole crew. High, balanced numbers, because the strength lies in the group. A Wind Warrior for the sails, with the Feather and Hammer constellations.
Did you know
The ancient constellation Argo Navis was so large that in the eighteenth century the astronomer Lacaille divided it into Carina, Puppis and Vela.
