The myth
Theseus came to Crete among the Athenian youths destined for the Minotaur. The princess Ariadne, daughter of Minos, fell in love with him and gave him a ball of thread, the idea of Daedalus himself, to mark the path through the Labyrinth. Theseus went in, killed the Minotaur, with a sword or, according to Apollodorus, with his fists, and came out following the thread. He fled with Ariadne but left her on the island of Naxos, where the god Dionysus took her as his wife. Plutarch says that on Delos Theseus and the youths danced a dance imitating the Labyrinth's windings.
Why it has this power
A Rare level-7 card with 2450 ATK and 2100 DEF, obtained by fusing Theseus of Athens with the Minotaur of the Labyrinth: the hero grows by defeating the beast. A Light Warrior emerging from the Labyrinth's darkness, he keeps the Sun and Hammer constellations. It is a leap of 600 attack points over the young Theseus.
Did you know
That Delian dance, called the crane dance, was still performed on the island in Plutarch's time.
