The myth
In the Amazonian legend of the Victoria water lily, a young woman in love with the Moon drowns trying to reach its reflection in a lake, and the Moon, moved, turns her into the "star of the waters". Versions published since the 1970s call the young woman Naiá and the Moon Jaci. The plant is real: the Victoria is a giant Amazonian water lily with round, rim-edged leaves that can exceed two meters across and bear considerable weight. Its flower opens only at night; on the first day it is white and on the second, after pollination, it turns pink.
Why it has this power
A level 7 rare, fusion only: Naiá, the Girl Who Loved the Moon, plus any water card. It rises from ATK 800 to ATK 2200, with DEF 2400: huge defense, like the leaves that bear weight. It is a water-element Insect or Plant, with Moon and Scarab.
Did you know
The plant was named Victoria in honor of England's Queen Victoria in the nineteenth century.
