The myth

The Constrictor Vine is a MYTHENOR creation inspired by a real and striking plant: the mata-pau, "tree killer", the popular name for figs and other plants that sprout high on a tree from a seed dropped by birds or bats. Their roots run down the trunk to the ground and weave around the host tree, like an embrace that tightens for years. In time, the original tree may die and rot, and the strangler stands alone, hollow inside. In the forest, many peoples also use vines and creepers to make baskets, bindings and traps.

Why it has this power

A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1600 and DEF 1900: the highest defense among the region's common and uncommon Insects and Plants, like roots that never let go. It is earth-element. Feather and Scarab are the seed carried by birds and the world of small lives. It pairs with the Jade Muiraquitã.

Some strangler figs grow so large and hollow that you can step inside and look up at the sky.
