Deep-Burrow Tarantula

The myth

Caranguejeiras are real spiders, large and hairy, of the tarantula family, and Brazil has dozens of species. They live in burrows in the ground, in tree hollows or under stones, come out mainly at night and hunt insects, and the biggest can catch small frogs and lizards. Despite their frightening look, the bite of most species is of little danger to people; their main defense is urticating hairs they flick from the abdomen, which irritate skin and eyes. Some females live more than twenty years. The card is a MYTHENOR creation that turns the fright into darkness.

Why it has this power

A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1700 and DEF 1400: the region's most aggressive Insect before fusions. It is darkness-element, because it only leaves its burrow at night. Moon and Scarab are the hour of the hunt and the world of small creatures. It benefits from the Jade Muiraquitã, which strengthens Insects and Plants.

The name caranguejeira comes from the resemblance of its thick, hairy legs to a crab's.
