The myth
The legend of the Victoria water lily is one of the best known in the Amazon. A young woman dreamed of becoming a star, because it was said the Moon took the girls it chose up into the sky. One night she saw the moon's reflection in a lake, thought it had come down for her, and threw herself in to reach it, and drowned. Moved, the Moon turned her into a star of the waters: the Victoria lily, a flower that opens only at night. The name Naiá is recent: it appears in a 1974 children's book, and versions from the 1990s called the Moon Jaci. The card is inspired by this story.
Why it has this power
A level 3 common with ATK 800 and DEF 1000: delicate, more defense than attack. It is a light-element Spirit, the glow of the reflected moon. Sun and Fox speak of the dream of rising to the sky. Fused with any water card, it becomes Victoria Lily, Star of the Waters, with ATK 2200.
Did you know
In the legend, the white flower that turns pink on its second day is the young woman's blushing face.
