The myth
Caipora comes from the Tupi caá-pora, "dweller of the woods". She is the protector of forest animals, described as a small, hairy being who rides a peccary and drives the herd with a staff. She punishes those who hunt too much, kill young animals or break the forest's agreements: she makes hunters lose their way, scares off the game, spoils their weapons. For a good hunt, tradition says to leave tobacco on a tree trunk and ask permission. In the Northeast, saying someone "has caipora" means they are plagued by lasting bad luck. In many places Caipora and Curupira blur together.
Why it has this power
A level 8 epic with ATK 2700 and DEF 2600: strong and very tough, like the forest she protects. It is an earth-element Spirit, mistress of the beasts. Wisp and Fox are the lights and tricks that confuse the hunter. Fused with the Ancestral Giant Sloth, it becomes the Mapinguari.
