The myth

The jaguar is the largest cat in the Americas and the top predator of Brazil's forests, able to swim rivers and hunt caimans. In Tupi, the word îagûara came to be used for the dogs brought by Europeans too, so îagûareté, "true jaguar", arose, which gives us jaguaretê. In many Indigenous cosmologies the jaguar is a being of great power and holds a central place in narratives. In Guarani accounts, the celestial jaguars killed the mother of the twins Sun and Moon. The card, a MYTHENOR creation, imagines the jaguar that hunts under the full moon and sometimes hunts the moon itself.

Why it has this power

A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1700 and DEF 1200: strong attack and low defense, like one who lives by ambush. It is an earth-element Beast, with Feather and Bull, agility and strength. Fused with Jaci, the Moon, it becomes Jaguaretê, the Eclipse Jaguar.

Did you know

The jaguar has one of the strongest bites of any cat, able to crack a turtle's shell.
