The myth
Honorato is the happy ending of the legend of Cobra Norato, widely told in Pará. The son of a woman and the Great Snake, he spent years trapped in a serpent's body while his sister, Maria Caninana, sank boats and did harm. Norato was kind: he helped fishermen and, on festival nights, came up on the bank as a young man. He begged someone to break the spell, but almost everyone fled in fear. In folk versions, someone finally had the courage to pour milk into the sleeping snake's mouth and wound it with iron until it bled. The serpent skin stayed in the river, and a man stepped out of it.
Why it has this power
A level 7 rare, fusion only: Norato, the River Serpent, plus any Warrior, the courage that breaks the spell. It rises from ATK 1700 to ATK 2300, with DEF 2100. It stays water-element, but is now a Warrior. It trades Leviathan for Hammer, beside Moon: no longer a snake, now a fighter.
Did you know
Some versions say that, once freed, Honorato lived as a soldier in Cametá, in Pará.
