The myth

Cobra Norato is an Amazonian legend widely told in Pará. A woman gave birth to twins who were snakes, children of the Great Snake: Honorato, kind and generous, and Maria Caninana, cruel, who sank boats. Norato lived in the rivers, but on festival nights he left his snakeskin on the bank, became a young man and went dancing. He begged anyone brave enough to break his enchantment. In versions collected by folklorists, someone had to pour milk into the sleeping snake's mouth and wound it with iron until it bled. In 1931 the poet Raul Bopp turned the legend into a classic of Brazilian modernism.

Why it has this power

A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1700 and DEF 1500: strong for a river snake, yet still waiting for someone. It is a water-element Serpent; Moon is the festival night, Leviathan the Great Snake's inheritance. Fused with a Warrior, it becomes Honorato, the Man Who Was a Serpent. It is also an offering for the Rite of the Great Flood.
