The myth
The draugr is the walking dead of the Icelandic sagas. Sometimes it is a haugbúi, a mound-dweller guarding the treasure buried with it; at other times it goes out to haunt the living, killing cattle and people. In Grettis saga the hero breaks into the mound of Kárr the Old, wrestles the dead man and takes the treasure, and later faces the dreadful Glámr. To stop one you had to overpower it, behead it or burn it. In later Norwegian folklore the draug became a drowned man sailing half a boat and foretelling shipwrecks.
Why it has this power
A level 3 Common with ATK 1100 and DEF 900. A Darkness Undead, under Moon and Scarab, the constellations of the dead and of what returns. It is a material for the Rite of the Gjallar Bridge, which calls Hel, and fused with Móðguðr it awakens the Draugr Jarl of Náströnd.
