The myth
In the sources Geri and Freki always appear together: they are the wolves to whom Odin gives the food from his table in Valhöll, while he himself drinks only wine. Grímnismál and Gylfaginning describe them beside the god, and Hliðskjálf is the high seat from which Odin sees all worlds. Wolves and ravens were seen as the animals that follow battle, which is why they suit the god of war. The card fusing the two brothers into one pack with a single hunger is a MYTHENOR creation.
Why it has this power
A level 5 Rare, reached only by fusing Geri with Freki. ATK 1900 and DEF 1800 far exceed either wolf alone. The element shifts from Earth to Darkness, for together they become the throne's shadow, under Moon and Bull. As a Beast it grows with the Howl of Járnviðr and the Halls of Valhöll.
Did you know
The two names, Geri and Freki, mean almost the same thing: ravenous, greedy.
