The myth
The path of the dead through the Duat, the underworld, was full of guarded gates. Budge summarizes the Book of the Dead chapters on the Seven Great Halls of Osiris's kingdom: each gate had a porter, a watchman and a messenger, and no one could enter without repeating the name of the hall and of its three guards. A late tradition spoke of twenty-one gates, each with a magical name. The Book of Gates, painted in royal tombs, divided the night into twelve hours separated by gates. This card's guardian is a MYTHENOR creation.
Why it has this power
A rare level 7 Beast-Warrior of Darkness with 2300 ATK and 2200 DEF: a doorkeeper hard to overcome. Moon beats Wisp and Fox beats Hammer. With the Jackal Judge of the Scales it forms the ancient rhyme that awakens Wenmara, Jackal-Guardian of the Eternal Gates.
Did you know
At the gates of Osiris's kingdom, knowing the names was the key: without repeating the names of the hall and its guards, no one passed.
