The myth

The Centzon Totochtin, “Four Hundred Rabbits,” were the gods of pulque and drunkenness. In Nahuatl, “four hundred” also means “countless”: each rabbit was a different way of getting drunk. They were held to be children of Mayahuel, goddess of the maguey, and Patécatl, lord of the roots that fermented the drink. Their leader was Ome Tochtli, “Two Rabbit,” a day linked to drunkards in the calendar. Pulque had ritual uses and its intoxication was strictly controlled: generally only elders could drink freely, and public drunkenness was punished.

Why it has this power

A Level 5 Rare with 1900 ATK and 1900 DEF: a balanced, unpredictable gang. Earth is the maguey field; Feather and Bull join the rabbits to the lunar sky and the beasts. It is born by fusing the Rabbit of the Moon with the Sacred Agave — rabbit plus maguey, exactly the two ingredients of the pulque myth.

Did you know

The link between rabbits and pulque runs through the Moon: the rabbit lives on the Moon, and the Moon was tied to fertility and fermented drinks.
