The myth
Tezcatlipoca, “Smoking Mirror,” is one of the most powerful gods of the Nahua pantheon: invisible and everywhere, lord of night, fate, kings and warriors. His emblem is the smoking obsidian mirror — in many images it replaces the foot he lost while fighting the earth monster. He is both rival and partner of Quetzalcóatl: together they made the world, yet it was Tezcatlipoca who, with tricks and a mirror, drove the Feathered Serpent out of Tula. The jaguar, Tepeyóllotl, is one of his faces.
Why it has this power
A Level 10 Legendary with 3500 ATK and 3000 DEF: more aggressive than Quetzalcóatl, like the rival who wins through cunning. Darkness is the element of the night he rules; Moon and Crown mark the nocturnal lord of kings. He is born by fusing Tepeyóllotl, the jaguar that is his own face, with the Sorcerer of the Smoking Mirror, his servant.
Did you know
One of his epithets was Titlacauan, “We Are His Slaves,” a reminder that kings and commoners alike depended on his whim.
