The myth

Deep Forest Under Jaci's Moon is the region's battlefield in MYTHENOR. It gathers real ideas: for many Indigenous peoples and for Brazilian folklore, the forest is never empty. It is inhabited by masters of animals such as the Caipora and the Curupira, by enchanted beings of the waters, by spirits that protect and punish. The moon, îasy in Tupi, the source of Jaci, lights this forest at night, and its cycles guide planting and fishing in Indigenous calendars. The card imagines this forest as a place that strengthens its own and resists fire, the greatest threat it faces today.

Why it has this power

An epic field spell: while in play, all Spirits and Beasts gain 500 ATK and DEF, and all fire cards lose 400. It strengthens the Curupira, Caipora, Iara, Anhangá, Mapinguari and Boto, but weakens the Boitatá and the Headless Mule: the forest resists flames, even its own.

In 1876, Couto de Magalhães described Jaci as the protector of plants, with beings such as the Boitatá under her command.
