The myth
Tobacco is a plant of the Americas, and for many Indigenous peoples it has sacred meaning. Among the Guarani Mbya, for instance, the pipe, petyngua, and tobacco smoke are part of prayer and communication with the divinities, within their own rules and spaces. In Brazilian folklore, tobacco appears as an offering to the Caipora, the Curupira and the Caboclo-d'Água, and the pipe is the Saci's trademark. The Pipe-Smoke Sorceress is a MYTHENOR creation and does not depict any real religious practice: she reads the future in the curls of smoke, an idea of the game.
Why it has this power
A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1600 and DEF 1400: strong for a sorceress. It is wind-element, because smoke travels on the air. Feather and Fox are lightness and cunning. Fused with the Saci-Pererê, who also smokes a pipe, it creates the Saci of the Whirlwind.
Did you know
The word petun, an old name for tobacco in several European languages, comes from Tupi-Guarani.
