The myth

The Caiman-Man is a MYTHENOR creation and does not reproduce a specific legend. It rests on two real things. The first is the yacare caiman, which lives by the millions in the lagoons and bays of the planet's largest tropical wetland. The second is an idea found in many Indigenous cosmologies of lowland South America: that the border between people and animals is not fixed, and that animals may have their own humanity and change form. Many anthropologists have studied this view. The card imagines the master of a lagoon who is half man and half caiman.

Why it has this power

A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1650 and DEF 1400: strong and balanced for the mid-game. It is a water-element Beast-Warrior, master of the lagoon. Moon and Leviathan tie it to the creatures of night waters. It uses both Warrior and Beast equipment, such as the War Club and the Jaguar-Fang Necklace.

Did you know

In the Pantanal, freshwater lagoons are called baías, and brackish ones are called salinas.
