The myth
The Capelobo is a haunting from the folklore of northern Brazil, told mainly in Maranhão, Pará and Amazonas. It is described with the head and snout of a giant anteater, a human body and round feet. It comes out at night in forests near rivers and wetlands, gives screams that sound human, and attacks dogs, cats and hunters, sucking their blood. It is said to die only from a precise shot to the navel or the nape of the neck. Because it resembles the werewolf, some scholars call it the "northern werewolf". There are accounts that, in some Xingu communities, certain shamans could take this form.
Why it has this power
A level 8 epic with ATK 2750 and DEF 2400: one of the strongest beasts in the region. It is a darkness-element Beast, because it only appears at night and screams like a person. Moon is the hour of the hunt; Bull, the raw strength of its body. The weak spot at the navel is not in the game: here only something stronger can defeat it.
Did you know
The real anteater is shy and peaceful; the Capelobo only borrowed its snout.
