The myth

Uirapuru is the name, from Tupi, of several small Amazonian birds, above all the musician wren, famous for a long, melodious, flute-like song heard almost only at dawn. Because it is so rarely seen or heard, the uirapuru became a symbol of enchantment in Brazilian culture. Folk tradition says that when it sings the other birds fall silent to listen, and many stories link the bird to luck and love. The composer Heitor Villa-Lobos wrote a symphonic poem called Uirapuru, and the composer Waldemar Henrique from Pará also brought it into music.

Why it has this power

A level 2 common with ATK 600 and DEF 700: fragile as a songbird, but precious. It is a light-element Bird, because it sings at dawn. Feather and Crown mark it as king of songs. Fused with the Pajé of the New-Moon Herbs, it becomes the Enchanted Uirapuru, the Song That Stills the Forest.

Did you know

The true uirapuru is a wren, a relative of the house wrens that sing in Brazilian backyards.
