Black Igapó Dragon

The myth

This dragon belongs to no legend: it is a MYTHENOR creation. Its home, however, is real. Igapó is the name for forest that spends months of the year underwater, along blackwater rivers such as the Rio Negro. The dark color comes from compounds in decaying leaves, and the water is so still it mirrors the trees. In the igapó many fish eat fruit falling from the trees and spread their seeds. For the Indigenous and riverside communities who live there, the rising and falling waters set the calendar. The game imagined who lurks in that darkness.

Why it has this power

A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1600 and DEF 1500, balanced like something waiting motionless. It is a darkness-element Dragon, because in black water only its eyes show. Moon is the night over the flooded forest; Crown, the rule of whoever commands that dark water.
