The myth
Mjölnir, the crusher, is Thor's hammer, forged by the dwarves Brokkr and Sindri. Snorri says that when Thor hurls it, it never misses its target and always returns to his hand, and that it can grow so small it fits inside his tunic. Its only flaw is the short handle, the fault of the fly that stung Brokkr. With it Thor protects gods and men from the giants. Mjölnir also blessed: it hallowed Baldr's pyre, and in Þrymskviða the giant Þrymr lays it in the lap of the bride, who was Thor himself in disguise.
Why it has this power
A Rare spell that destroys the opponent's strongest monster. It always hits and always comes back, the card says, and in play it needs no aim either: it goes straight for the biggest giant on the field. It is the classic answer to Legendaries and Epics.

Pendants shaped like Thor's hammer were worn as amulets in the Viking Age, sometimes side by side with Christian crosses.
