The myth

In the Norse creation told by Snorri, Muspelheim, the fiery world of the south, casts out sparks and embers that fly into the chasm of Ginnungagap. There the heat meets Niflheim's rime, and from the thaw life is born. After the world was made from Ymir's body, the gods took the loose sparks and embers from Muspelheim and set them in the sky to give light: some fixed on high, others wandering along paths the gods appointed. So were born the days, the years and the reckoning of time.

Why it has this power

A Common spell that deals 500 direct damage to the opponent's breath, bypassing monsters. It is the spark that escapes the realm of fire and burns someone, as its flavor says. Small but sure: perfect for closing out a tight duel.

Did you know

For Snorri, even the sun and moon were made from Muspelheim's embers, and they ride across the sky pursued by wolves.
