The myth

In the Hávamál, after telling how he hung on the tree and seized the runes, Odin says each people received its rune-master: Odin for the gods, Dáinn for the elves, Dvalinn for the dwarves and Ásviðr for the giants. The poem treats runes not as a human invention but as secrets found and taught. The elves, in Snorri's tradition, live in Álfheimr and are fairer than the sun. The Rune-Master of Álfheimr is a MYTHENOR creation inspired by that stanza: the sage who keeps the runes among the elves.

Why it has this power

A level 5 Uncommon with ATK 1750 and DEF 1500, the most offensive uncommon Spellcaster. Light element, from Álfheimr, under Sun and Fox. With the Seiðr Staff he reaches ATK 2450, and he can be the rhyme that lets the Iron-Staff Völva awaken the Norns.

Did you know

The sixth-century Noleby runestone in Sweden already calls the runes raginaku, of divine origin.
