The myth
The ljósálfar, light-elves, appear in the Prose Edda. Snorri says that in Álfheimr live the light-elves, fairer than the sun, while the dark-elves dwell beneath the earth and are blacker than pitch. In the old poems, elves are named alongside the Æsir and the Vanir, and sacrifices were made in their honor, the álfablót. Álfheimr, according to Grímnismál, was given to the god Freyr as a first-tooth gift. Scholars note that the sharp split into elves of light and of darkness may reflect Christian influence.
Why it has this power
A level 3 Common with ATK 1000 and DEF 1100: graceful and resilient. Light element, for beings fairer than the sun, under Sun and Crown. In play it is a minor Deity, which lets it equip the Belt of Strength and gain 700 ATK and DEF.
