The myth
The nøkken, Old Norse nykr, is a water spirit of Norwegian folklore who lives in rivers, lakes, wells and ponds and lures people to drown. He changes shape: he may be a horse, a handsome man or a floating log. To protect yourself you need only speak his name, and he loses his power; when he shrieks, someone is about to drown. In Sweden the Näcken is famous for playing the fiddle in waterfalls, and in Norway the fossegrim teaches music to whoever offers him food. Theodor Kittelsen's paintings fixed his image.
Why it has this power
A level 6 Rare with ATK 2100 and DEF 2000, the strongest Spirit in the fjord. Water element, from the waterfall and the dark lake, under Moon and Leviathan. With the Seiðr Staff equipped it reaches ATK 2800 and becomes a waterfall no one escapes.
