Walking Furnace Karakuri
A MYTHENOR creation — Theme: Original theme: the mechanical ingenuity of Edo-period Japan, karakuri automata and the braziers and stoves that warmed homes in winter.

It warms the whole village in winter, as long as it doesn't step on anyone.

The myth
The walking furnace is an original MYTHENOR creation with no matching legend. It plays with two real things from old Japan. One is the Edo taste for karakuri, machines that imitated life and made audiences laugh and gasp. The other is household warmth: wood-and-paper houses were heated by hibachi braziers, irori hearths in the middle of the room and kotatsu, and fire was both comfort and danger, since blazes destroyed whole neighborhoods. The card imagines an automaton carrying warmth to the village, if it watches its step.
Why it has this power
A Common level-3 Fire Machine with 1200 ATK and 1200 DEF: equal numbers, solid and reliable as an iron stove. Fire is the ember in its chest; Sun and Hammer, warmth and forge. One of the archipelago's most balanced commons and a good partner for the Tanuki in the kettle fusion.
Did you know
Fires were so common in old Edo that they were nicknamed "the flowers of Edo", and the city had fire brigades organized by neighborhood.
