The myth

This nameless ronin is a MYTHENOR creation, but he springs from a historical figure. Rōnin, "wave man", was the samurai who lost his lord through death, disgrace or confiscation, and was left adrift, without stipend or place. In the Edo period they were numerous: some became fencing teachers, bodyguards or bandits. The most famous case is the Forty-Seven Rōnin, who avenged their lord in 1703. The Tōkaidō, with its fifty-three stations between Edo and Kyoto, was the road of such wanderers, immortalized in the prints of Utagawa Hiroshige.

Why it has this power

A Common level-4 Wind Warrior with 1400 ATK and 900 DEF: strong in attack and weak in defense, like one with no castle to return to. Wind and Feather are the road without destination; Hammer, the blade. He is one of the materials of the Rite of Mount Kurama, since a man without a lord may learn from the tengu.

Hiroshige's series The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō, published around 1833, was so successful that he designed further versions of the same road.
