The myth
The Chimera was a fire-breathing monster that lived in Lycia. In the Iliad Homer describes her as of divine race: lion in front, serpent behind and goat in the middle. Hesiod says she was a daughter of Echidna with three heads, of lion, goat and serpent. The king of Lycia sent Bellerophon to kill her, hoping he would die; riding Pegasus, the hero struck from above and brought her down. Her name means young she-goat, and today chimera means both an impossible dream and a being made of different parts.
Why it has this power
A Rare level-7 card with 2300 ATK and 2000 DEF, obtained by fusing the Lycian Lion with any Serpent: the fusion itself mimics the monster's body, made of joined animals. A Fire Beast for her burning breath, she bears the Sun and Bull constellations. Bellerophon Astride Pegasus is her natural adversary.
