The myth
Egyptians buried their dead at the edges of the desert, above all in the west, where the sun set and the land of the dead lay. Great necropolises grew there, with tombs, temples and chapels, and later the rock-cut tombs of the Valley of the Kings. Over it all stretched Nut, the sky goddess, her body covered in stars, who swallowed the sun at evening and gave birth to it in the morning. The Necropolis Under the Lapis Sky is the MYTHENOR field, the buried temple where a thousand kings still dream.
Why it has this power
An epic field spell: Undead or Darkness monsters gain +500, and Light monsters lose 400. Beneath this sand, the dead and the night reign. Note: it affects both sides, and the Necropolis's own solar cards, like Kheperu, suffer the penalty too.
Did you know
In depictions of Nut, the goddess's outstretched legs and arms symbolized the four pillars of the firmament.
