The myth

The khopesh is a historical weapon: a curved, scimitar-shaped sword which, according to World History Encyclopedia, reached Egypt with the Hyksos, along with the war chariot and the composite bow, and was later adapted by the Egyptians into a shorter model. With such weapons the New Kingdom built a professional army of infantry, archers and chariots, which carried Egypt into campaigns such as the battle of Kadesh. This card's Ancient Bronze Khopesh is the MYTHENOR equipment inspired by that blade.

Why it has this power

Common equipment: gives +500 ATK to a Warrior or Beast-Warrior monster. The curved blade cuts a path between shields. On the Captain of the Burning Sands, attack rises to 2800; on the Bearer of the Royal Khopesh, the name finally makes full sense.

Did you know

Besides the khopesh, the Hyksos brought the horse-drawn war chariot and the composite bow to Egypt.
