The myth

Sekhalu is inspired by Horus, one of Egypt's oldest gods, imagined as a falcon who could fly far and return with news. The sun and the moon were considered his eyes, watching over the world by day and by night. In one tradition, Horus the Elder was given the sky while Osiris ruled the earth; in another, Horus, son of Isis and Osiris, fought Set and lost an eye in the struggle. In time he merged with Ra as Ra-Horakhty, a falcon-headed man who crossed the sky by day.

Why it has this power

A legendary level 10 Bird of Fire with 3100 ATK and 3500 DEF, the highest defense in the whole Egyptian myth: nothing escapes the falcon's gaze. Feather, the constellation of birds, beats Sun; Crown, a symbol of Horus as the god of kingship, beats Scarab. Each cycle victory is worth +500 attack and defense.

The card's line about one eye being the sun and the other the moon echoes a real belief: Egyptians saw both lights as the eyes of Horus.
