The myth

The chimalli was the round shield of Mexica warriors. Made of reeds or wood, it could be reinforced with hide and covered with mosaics of colored feathers showing designs and symbols of the bearer’s rank. Many had fringes of plumes hanging from the lower edge. Beyond defense, the shield was a badge of honor: warriors received special shields as rewards for captures. Few survive; one of the most famous, bearing a feathered animal usually identified as a coyote, is now in Vienna. The card’s captain is a generic character created by the game.

Why it has this power

A Level 5 Uncommon with 1700 ATK and 1900 DEF: the only Uncommon warrior with DEF above ATK — a walking shield. Light stands for the gleam of the feathers; Sun and Hammer, the warrior serving the sun. He guards your field well while the attackers advance.
