The myth
Brazil has one of the largest mangrove areas in the world, spread along the coast from Amapá to Santa Catarina. The mangrove is a nursery for fish, crabs and birds, and supports many traditional communities of fishers and crab gatherers who know every channel and every firm stretch. For outsiders, however, the deep mud can trap legs up to the knee or beyond, and each step gets harder. The card is a MYTHENOR trap inspired by this: the mangrove shelters those who know the way, and swallows those who rush in to attack.
Why it has this power
A common trap that destroys the attacking monster. When the opponent attacks, it triggers and the aggressor sinks and leaves the field before dealing damage. It is the harshest of the region's common traps: it punishes those who attack without watching their step.
Did you know
Mangrove aerial roots help the trees breathe in mud that is poor in oxygen.
