Enchanted River Dolphin

The myth

The pink river dolphin, or boto, is the largest freshwater dolphin in the world and lives in the rivers of the Amazon. In legend it is an encantado: on festival nights it rises from the river as an elegant young man, dressed in white and wearing a hat that hides the blowhole on top of his head. He dances with the young women all night, seduces one of them and, before dawn, returns to the river. When a child is born with no known father, people sometimes say it is the boto's child. Riverside June festivals are the story's best-remembered setting.

Why it has this power

A level 8 epic with ATK 2750 and DEF 2600: strong and tough, like the largest river dolphin. It is a water-element Beast, with Moon and Bull, the festival night and bodily strength. It only reaches the field through the Riverside Midsummer Dance, with Creek Water Snake, Enchanted One of the Riverbed and Paddler.

Did you know

Male botos are much larger and pinker than females, and can exceed two and a half meters.
