The myth
The belief in a procession of souls passing through the streets at midnight with lit candles is old in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, where it is called the Santa Compaña, and it reached Brazil with the colonizers. In the Galician version only certain people can see the souls; others notice only the floating lights and the smell of melted wax in the air. In Brazil similar stories are told in the countryside, tied to folk Catholicism and care for the dead. The card is inspired by this tradition; the detail of the candle that turns into a bone is treated here as the game's image.
Why it has this power
A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1600 and DEF 1800: more defense than attack, like a line of souls that never breaks. It is a light-element Undead, for the lit candles. Sun and Scarab join light and death. A solid wall for the mid-game.
Did you know
In Galician tradition, the one leading the procession with a cross is a living person who does not know it.
