The myth

Rudá, or Perudá, appears in O Selvagem, the 1876 book by the general and scholar Couto de Magalhães, as the Tupi god of love and reproduction: a warrior who lives in the clouds and awakens love in people's hearts. According to the author, those who felt longing sang to Rudá at sunset or moonrise, asking that their beloved remember the one left behind. The anthropologist Arthur Ramos doubted the myth, because only Couto de Magalhães recorded it. Even so, Rudá entered Brazilian literature and appears in Mário de Andrade's Macunaíma.

Why it has this power

A level 5 uncommon with ATK 1700 and DEF 1500: a gentle warrior, more attack than defense. It is a wind-element Deity, because he sends longing through the air. Feather is the flight among the clouds; Crown, the place among the divinities that Couto de Magalhães gave him.

Did you know

Couto de Magalhães also named two moons linked to Rudá: Cairé, the full moon, and Catiti, the new moon.
