The myth
Valhöll, the hall of the slain, is Odin's dwelling in Asgard, home of the einherjar, the warriors fallen in battle and chosen by the valkyries. Grímnismál describes it with rafters of spears, a roof of shields and mail coats on the benches, and says it has five hundred and forty doors, from each of which eight hundred warriors will march at Ragnarök. By day the heroes fight; by night they eat the flesh of the boar Sæhrímnir and drink the mead of the goat Heiðrún. Odin receives half the slain; the other half goes to Freyja in Fólkvangr.
Why it has this power
An Epic field: while it is active, Warriors and Beasts gain 500 strength, and Fire cards lose 400. The heroes fight by day and feast by night, awaiting the final fire, the card says: the hall strengthens its own and distrusts the blaze of Surtr that will one day come.
Did you know
By Grímnismál's count, more than four hundred thousand warriors will march out of Valhöll to the final battle.
