The myth
Thor is the god who answers every threat. In Skáldskaparmál, when the giant Geirröðr hurled a red-hot iron bar at him, Thor caught it in midair with his iron gloves and threw it back; it passed through a pillar, the giant and the wall. In Þrymskviða, the giant who stole Mjölnir is struck down by that very hammer, which Thor recovers disguised as a bride. The sources name no reprisal of this kind: the card is a MYTHENOR creation summing up that trait of the thunder god.
Why it has this power
A Rare trap that reflects the combat damage back at the attacker. Whoever strikes the thunder hears it strike back, the card says, like Geirröðr, who received his own red-hot iron in return. It does the same as Svalinn but is rarer: a second chance to punish strong attacks.

Thor's journey to Geirröðr is also told in the Þórsdrápa, a tenth-century skaldic poem by Eilífr Goðrúnarson.
