The myth
The einherjar are the warriors chosen by the valkyries who live in Valhöll with Odin. Snorri says that every day they put on their armor, go out into the yard and fight until they fall upon one another; at night they return healed to drink together. This eternal training has a purpose: to form the army that will fight beside the gods at Ragnarök. Grímnismál says eight hundred warriors will march out of each of the hall's five hundred and forty doors. This card's ambush is a MYTHENOR creation inspired by that army.
Why it has this power
A Common trap that destroys the attacking monster. They died once and do not fear dying again, the card says: when the enemy advances, the heroes of the hall appear from nowhere and bring it down. One of the fjord's harshest traps for careless attackers.
Did you know
Snorri says the einherjar eat the flesh of the boar Sæhrímnir every night, and it is whole again each morning.
