The myth
Surtr, the black one, is the fire giant who has guarded Muspelheim since the beginning of time. In the Völuspá he comes from the south with the bane of branches, fire, and his sword shines like the sun of the gods; mountains crash down, men tread the road to Hel and the heavens split. Snorri says he leads the sons of Muspell, breaks the bridge Bifröst, kills the unarmed Freyr, and at the end flings fire over the earth and burns the whole world. After the blaze, a new green earth rises from the sea.
Why it has this power
A level 8 Epic with ATK 2950, the highest attack among the fjord's Epics, and DEF 2400. A Fire Warrior, under Sun and Hammer. He is a ritual monster: the Rite of Muspell's Flames joins the Ember Wyrm, the Ember Raider and the Living Bellows, three small fires to call the fire that ends everything.
