The myth
Hrólfr Kraki is a legendary Danish king who ruled at Hleiðr, today Lejre. The Hrólfs saga kraka, written in Iceland, and other sources tell of his twelve champions, the finest warriors of the north. The most famous was Bǫðvarr Bjarki, son of a man turned into a bear, who in the final battle fought as a giant bear while his body sat motionless in the hall. Hrólfr's Bear-Guard is not a character from the sagas: it is a MYTHENOR creation inspired by that guard of heroes who became beasts.
Why it has this power
A level 5 Uncommon with ATK 1650 and DEF 1700: a sentinel, stronger standing still than charging. An Earth Beast-Warrior, under Sun and Fox. It pairs well with the Runic Bearded Axe or the Wolf-Fang Torc, guarding the king while he sleeps.
