The myth
Hrungnir was the strongest of the giants. In the Prose Edda he races Odin, bursts drunk into Asgard and threatens to carry off Freyja and Sif. Thor challenges him to a duel. Hrungnir had a three-cornered heart of stone, a stone head and a stone shield; his weapon was a whetstone. The giants built him a clay companion, Mökkurkálfi. Thor's hammer shattered the whetstone and killed the giant, but a shard lodged in the god's head, and Hrungnir's leg fell across him. Only little Magni could lift it.
Why it has this power
A level 7 Rare, reached only by fusing Mökkurkálfi with a Warrior. ATK 2500 and DEF 2600: stone inside and out, harder to topple than to face. Earth element, under Sun and Hammer, the very weapon that defeated him. A stone wall on the field.
Did you know
Magni, Thor's son, was only three years old when he lifted the giant's leg off his father.
