The myth

Lindormr is an Old Norse word for a great serpent, and the lindworm, or lindorm, survived in Scandinavian folklore as a wingless dragon, sometimes with two forelegs. In Swedish and Danish legends, lindworms lived in marshes, woods and lakes, grew slowly and menaced villages and cattle. In the heroic tradition, Fáfnir himself is called an ormr, a serpent. The Marsh Lindworm is a MYTHENOR creation drawn from that folklore: a slow, patient beast, master of the fjord's bogs.

Why it has this power

A level 4 Common with ATK 1200 and DEF 1300: slow and sturdy, as its flavor says, with all the time in the world. It is the fjord's only Earth-element serpent, under Sun and Leviathan. It holds the field while stronger cards arrive.

Did you know

In Swedish and Danish, the word lindorm still names this serpent-dragon of folk legend.
