The myth
Norway's fjords are valleys drowned by the sea, sometimes more than a thousand meters deep. Small wonder folklore filled them with giant serpents. In 1555 the Swedish bishop Olaus Magnus, in his history of the northern peoples, described an enormous sea serpent that lived in caves near Bergen and came out on summer nights to devour animals and attack boats. The Blackfjord Serpent is a MYTHENOR creation inspired by those stories: the mistress of the darkest waters, where light never reaches.
Why it has this power
A level 4 Common with ATK 1350 and DEF 1100, the strongest common water serpent of the fjord. Water element, under Moon and Leviathan: the tides of night and the primordial sea monster. Good for early pressure and for Serpent fusions that rhyme with water.
Did you know
The Sognefjord, Norway's longest and deepest fjord, is more than thirteen hundred meters deep.
