The myth

In the folklore of Norway and its neighbors, the sjøorm, or sea serpent, is a vast creature living in the ocean or in deep lakes, hiding in coastal caves and able to attack ships and crews. Accounts of sightings spanned centuries, and Renaissance writers described serpents coiling around ships in the icy northern waters. The greatest of them in myth is Jörmungandr. The Frosttide Serpent is a MYTHENOR creation inspired by that old fear: a lesser brood that follows the boats, waiting for a careless moment.

Why it has this power

A level 3 Common with ATK 750 and DEF 900: more elusive than fierce, it would rather wait than strike. Water element, under Moon and Leviathan, the constellations of every sea serpent in the fjord. It makes good bait for Serpent fusions and holds the field in the early turns.
