The myth

The Hyakki Yagyō, "night parade of one hundred demons", is the procession of oni, yōkai and animated objects said to cross the streets on certain nights. Heian-period tale collections such as the Konjaku Monogatari tell of nobles who met the procession and escaped only thanks to Buddhist charms. On certain nights of the calendar it was dangerous to go out. The Muromachi-period scroll of the Shinju-an temple shows a merry and frightening parade of household tools come to life, the tsukumogami, and shaped all later yōkai art.

Why it has this power

A Rare level-6 Darkness Spirit with 2000 ATK and 2100 DEF, fusion only: the Karakasa and the Chōchin-obake together, the umbrella and the lantern that open the parade of living objects. Darkness and Moon are the small hours; Fox, the festival of disguises. A sturdy spirit that grows greatly with the Obon Lantern Festival.
